Life in Spain is sooo cheap! That was the first thing I thought when I went out for lunch, diner and drinks. Because in Spain you can get delicious bocadillos for only 4 euro or even less in restaurants and cervezas and sangria's for only 2 euro! When you go out for diner you can have a complete meal for 10 euros and when you go out for a drink you get free chuppitos everywhere and you can buy sangria for 1 euro. Besides that, in some bars you can have a litre of mix drink for only 3 euros! Lets sum up the prices you approximately pay for food in Holland:
- Lunch (bread/sandwiches) 6-8 euro
- Diner (meat/fish dishes) 15-30 euro
- Drinks (beer, wine and mix drinks) 2,50/3,50/7 euro
However, the fact that everything is so cheap in Spain, makes it at the same time expensive as well. Just because its cheap you go out for lunch or diner more often, and you do not go out just one day in a week, no you go out like 3 times a week. All these small amounts of payments hurts your wallet the most. Last weekend for example, I went out on thursday, friday, and saturday and now I am really broke due to this weekend even though the drinks were not that expensive. It is just because you think you can afford it, that you do it. But nothing is less true... So take care of your dutch wallet in Spain!!
