I am a Dutch girl called Chermaine and I am 22 years old. Three months do I live in Alicante now, and I have three more months to go! I am here for my study 'International Business and Languages' and learn Economics at the University of Alicante. If you have ever been abroad for your internship, study or job we probably have something in comment: the experience of cultural differences.
The first thing I noticed were the differences in eating habits. For example in Spain it is not a habit to eat bread/sandwiches as lunch, like I am used to in Holland. No, Spanish people eat warm in the afternoon and in the evening. In Holland they have lunch at 1 PM and diner at 6 PM, this way they have time left to do sports or other activities after. Besides that Dutch people say it is not good for your health to eat right before you go to bed. However, I have noticed that there are not so many people with overweight in Alicante..
